Marmaduke's story
Marmaduke's story:
Although Marmaduke from the comic strip is a Great Dane, and our Marmaduke is a hound, our Marmaduke has an even BIGGER personality than the comic strip!
Marmaduke was first found as a stray and brought to his local animal shelter. That shelter is a high-volume shelter with many dogs and few resources. He was very nervous there and struggling with anxiety.  Luckily, the shelter has an amazing volunteer that recognized Marmaduke was not doing well and reached out us since we can provide a quieter atmosphere where he could relax. We were happy to help.
Marmaduke went to a foster home until transport could be arranged for him to be brought to our rescue.  He did well in the foster home and was able to calm down.  He must have been someone's pet at one point because he bonded very well with his foster mom.  In fact, he may have bonded too well.  Because of this, Marmaduke is struggling with being in a shelter again.  He is adjusting much better but you can tell this sweet boy just wants a home and family to call his own.
Marmaduke is neutered and up to date on his shots.  He does have anxiety in the shelter but we just know that will get better in a good home.
Are you the perfect forever home for Marmaduke?
